Human and Animal Subject Protection

Research involving human or animal subjects conducted by VCU faculty, staff and students must undergo institutional review to assure subjects are adequately protected.  The Office of Research Subjects Protection (ORSP) facilitates the review process through providing guidance and education on research subjects protection and the VCU review process.  It also coordinates the work of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for human subjects, and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
