Responsible Conduct of Research

Within 1 year of their appointment, all postdoctoral scholars must provide to the Office of Postdoctoral Services verification of having completed an approved educational program in responsible conduct of research (RCR).

  • GRAD 691: 1-credit on-line course with a 2.5 hour in-class case study discussion. Individuals registered for this course will complete readings on-line through the VCU blackboard system and attend one in-person session. Grading is on a pass/fail basis. Postdoctoral scholars are eligible to apply for a tuition waiver to defray the costs for this course. [http://www.research.vcu.edu/vpr/postdoc/scholarships.htm].
  • MICR 510 Scientific Integrity (a 1-credit course offered each Fall through the Department of Microbiology & Immunology)
