ARRA Reporting
Receipt of ARRA funding invokes additional reporting requirements over and above the normal progress and financial reports. OSP has been closely monitoring the guidance issued by the Office of Management and Budget. Report templates and final guidance were issued on August 10, 2009.
The Commonwealth of Virginia has announced certain requirements which must be met by all state agencies receiving ARRA funding, including specifying the manner in which we submit our reports and increasing the reporting cycle to monthly.
OSP has been working very closely with our Controller’s Office to ensure that we obtain as many of the required data elements from existing systems or create new fields in our systems to collect the data. However, there are several data elements that require input from each Principal Investigator. We will, unless specifically directed by the state otherwise, only ask for this data from you on a quarterly schedule (as required by the federal government) and report it statically to the state for the following two months to minimize the burden on you.
ARRA reports are due on the 10th of the month following each calendar quarter (October 10, January 10, April 10 and July 10). OSP will send each principal investigator an e-mail on or about the 15th of the month prior to the due date. The e-mail will contain instructions and a link to our web form (see below), which will collect your quarterly data and forward to OSP when complete.
OSP has prepared a short training session for principal investigators and will be offering it several times over the next few weeks. If you are unable to attend one of the sessions, please send a message to ospaward@vcu.edu with the subject line “ARRA Training Needed” to schedule an individual review session.
